Warning triangles that tell you the shape of the junction you are approaching — which is what decides where you should already be looking.
A triangle warns, it does not instruct
Warning signs are triangles with a red border and a black symbol on white. They tell you what is ahead. They do not tell you what to do about it, and they do not give you or take away right of way.
That distinction is examined directly. A question that says a warning sign requires you to stop, or gives you priority, is false — the sign warns, and the ordinary rules of the road still decide who goes.
Where people lose the markAssuming a warning triangle carries an obligation. Only the shape of the hazard is being communicated.
